Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel written by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. It tells the story of a young girl, Anne Shirley, who is sent to live with a middle-aged brother and sister on Prince Edward Island after having been orphaned. The book covers the years from Anne’s arrival in Green Gables as an 11-year-old until she reaches 16.
