The Great Mouse Detective is a 1986 American animated mystery film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 26th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, the film was inspired by the Sherlock Holmes stories of Arthur Conan Doyle. The film stars Barrie Ingham as the voice of Basil of Baker Street, a Sherlock Holmes-inspired mouse who solves a complex case involving a kidnapped toymaker. The film was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, and produced by Walt Disney.
