Northern Exposure is an American television series that ran on CBS from 1990 to 1995. The show was created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey, who also created the acclaimed show St. Elsewhere. Northern Exposure tells the story of Joel Fleischman, a young, idealistic Jewish doctor from New York City who is sent to practice medicine in the small town of Cicely, Alaska.
