Cd’s or compact discs are made up of polycarbonate and aluminum. They are about 12 cm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick. They usually hold about 74 minutes of music. 

Cd’s have been around since 1982 and were once a popular way to listen to music. With the invention of the mp3 player, cd’s have become less popular. 

Cd’s can be recycled. The polycarbonate can be recycled into new cd’s and the aluminum can be recycled into new cans.
