The Big Bang Theory is an American situation comedy created and executively produced by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom serve as head writers. The show was first aired on CBS on September 24, 2007.

The show is set in Pasadena, California and revolves around five male scientists who are roommates: Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, both physicists, Howard Wolowitz, an aerospace engineer, Rajesh Koothrappali, an astrophysicist, and, as of the eighth season, Amy Farrah Fowler, a neuroscientist.
