Battlestar Galactica is a science fiction franchise created by Glen A. Larson. It began with the eponymous 1978 television series, followed by a short-lived 1980 sequel series, and then a 2003 reimagining series. A prequel series, Caprica, aired in 2009. A spin-off series, Blood & Chrome, was produced in 2012, but not aired until 2013.
