Criminal Minds is an American police procedural television series created by Jeff Davis. The series premiered on September 22, 2005, on the CBS network. The show is produced by The Mark Gordon Company, in association with ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios.

The show follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), specifically the team led by Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), as they investigate cases involving serial killers, child abductions, and other assorted psychopaths.

The show has been a huge success, and has spawned several spin-off series, including Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
