Last Flag Flying is a 2017 American comedy-drama film directed by Richard Linklater and written by Linklater and Darryl Ponicsan. It is based on Ponicsan’s 2005 novel of the same name. The film stars Bryan Cranston, Laurence Fishburne, Steve Carell, and J. K. Simmons.

The film follows three Vietnam War veterans, Larry “Doc” Shepherd (Cranston), Sal Nealon (Fishburne), and Richard Mueller (Carell), who meet up for a road trip to bury Doc’s son, a young Marine killed in the Iraq War.
