Dragonball Z is an anime that was created by Akira Toriyama in 1989. The series follows the adventures of Goku, a warrior who possesses a mystical power known as “Shenron” or “Dragon Balls”, as he protects the Earth from evil.

The Dragonball Z anime series was first released in North America by FUNimation Entertainment in 1998. The series was released on VHS and DVD, with each DVD containing four episodes. In 2001, FUNimation began releasing the series in “season sets”; each season set contained 26 episodes, or four DVD sets.
