The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom serve as executive producers on the show, along with Steven Molaro. The series premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007.

The show is set in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California, and follows the lives of four scientists—physicist Leonard Hofstadter and astrophysicist Sheldon Cooper, both roommates; engineer Howard Wolowitz, who lives across the hall; and neuroscientist Rajesh Koothrappali—and their beautiful, free-spirited neighbor, Penny.
