Cd De Mexico Temblor

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at around 1:14pm local time, Mexico City experienced a magnitude 7.1 earthquake. The quake’s epicenter was located about 19 miles southeast of the city, near the town of Raboso. The temblor caused widespread damage throughout the city and surrounding areas, leaving over 300 people dead and thousands more injured.

The quake was the deadliest to hit Mexico since the 1985 magnitude 8.0 earthquake that killed nearly 10,000 people. It was also the strongest quake to hit Mexico in over a century, since the devastating magnitude 8.1 quake that struck the country in 1918.
