YouTube first came out on computers on December 15, 2005. It was founded by three former PayPal employees Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. The three were discussing what to do with their new company after leaving PayPal when they came up with the idea for a video sharing website. They registered the domain name youtube.com on February 14, 2005.
