The Chamber of Secrets is the second novel in the Harry Potter series, written by J.K. Rowling. The Chamber of Secrets was published on July 2, 1998. The novel is preceded by Philosopher’s Stone and followed by Prisoner of Azkaban. The story follows Harry Potter’s second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, during which a series of attacks targeted students of Muggle heritage. These attacks are believed to have been carried out by a Heir of Salazar Slytherin, who opened the Chamber of Secrets, unleashing a monster which petrified many students.
