The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 American horror-thriller film directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, and Scott Glenn. The film is based on the 1988 novel of the same name by Thomas Harris, and tells the story of Clarice Starling, a young FBI trainee who is sent to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.
The film was released on DVD on April 1, 2003 by MGM Home Entertainment. The DVD includes an audio commentary by director Jonathan Demme, deleted scenes, production notes, and the theatrical trailer.
