The Conjuring 2 is a 2016 American supernatural horror film written and directed by James Wan. It is a sequel to the 2013 film The Conjuring, and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors who travel to England to help a family terrorized by a demonic spirit.

The film was announced in December 2014, with Wan returning to direct and Farmiga and Wilson reprising their roles. In March 2015, additional cast was announced, including Frances O’Connor, Madison Wolfe, Simon McBurney, and Franka Potente. Principal photography began in May 2015 in London.
