Dvd Rw Optical Drives

An optical drive is a device that reads data from and writes data to optical discs. Optical discs include CD-ROMs, CD-Rs, and DVDs.

There are three types of optical drives:

CD-ROM drives

CD-RW drives

DVD-ROM drives

A CD-ROM drive can only read CDs. A CD-RW drive can both read CDs and write to CD-Rs. A DVD-ROM drive can both read DVDs and write to DVD-Rs.

The speed of an optical drive is measured in multiples of the speed of a CD-ROM drive. A DVD-ROM drive is usually faster than a CD-ROM drive.
